YOU CAN LOOK FORWARD TO FRED EPHRAIM'S I Methuselah, THE FOLLOW-UP TO Percy's Plunder, SCHEDULED FOR RELEASE AFTER LATEBLOOMER
After the Williams Plantation slaves had revolted in support of Thaddeus Williams and the Nimba’s Prince Amu, the plantation was left without a leader, when Thaddeus dies in the woods after seeing his daughters one last time. While Captain Neville Percy and his band of thugs had been badly hobbled, as an inducement, Percy offers them the fleeing Nimba warriors as a bounty of future slaves, for their further cooperation. Still led by Percy, the battered and tired remaining combatants take out after the fleeing Nimba and all who supported their rescue of the prince, including his twin wives—the now pregnant Williams sisters. The yet to be identified Nimba warriors—as the captain only suspects them present in all of this espionage, but has not yet laid eyes on them. As the Nimba head away from the plantation, their plan is to re-launch the Apprentice and head back to Africa and home, when a seasonal hurricane dashes their hopes and plans. With Percy and his men in hot pursuit, the Nimba are forced to improvise in this strange new land along the South Carolina coast, and so the new story goes forward shaping an exciting adventure to come.
“Captain Percy had ordered me to take care of the wounded men, who could not accompany him in his pursuit of the Nimba and company. After he had gone chasing the Nimba, I balked at this absurd notion, when I sensed that my life had irreversibly changed forever, as it had been before was totally re-arranged now. So when the captain was gone,--seeking his Nimba fortune, as it were—I decide to flee for my own freedom, and try to find the Africans and return to Africa with them. I do find them, or actually, they find me while I am searching for them. From then on, my story is intertwined with theirs. It is I Methuselah who will tell all that happens now, as we plot our new course for the safety of home.”
